Could We Start Again, Please?

I was plugging along with so much positive steam.  I was tracking my foods. I prepared so many of my own meals this week rather than eating out, many of them documented here. I exercised every evening in addition to my usual morning exercise. What do I get for my efforts??  A two and a half pound gain when I weighed in this morning. 😦

Needless to say, I’m not very happy today.  I was even especially good last night, or at least I thought it was.

Started with this collection…

While my Morningstar Farms Grillers Chick’n was cooking in the toaster oven (my favorite way to cook them) I chopped the romaine and the tomatoes. I added some black pepper and Mrs. Dash Fiesta Lime, AND the last of the black beans!

Thought for a while I might turn into a crock pot full of black beans…

…but I did it.  I really do like them so it wasn’t an issue that I had so many of them, just kind of funny.  No matter how much of them I ate, the container never seemed to get empty.  I will do that again, though because it was SO economical and great to have something right in the frig that I could use as the basis for a meal.

So I added the LAST OF THE BEANS!

And my Grillers Chick’n when they had finished cooking…

Chopped them up, added some Wegman’s Fat Free Country French Dressing-spicy and good!

I also added some sunflower seeds but I forgot them until after I took the picture.   😦

I thought I did well.  I guess if there’s one thing I’ve learned in 23 years on the Weight Watchers program, there’s always next week.  Many times, the good things you do on the program this week don’t show up until next week.  I just have to reinforce in my own mind that this is not a license to go out of control today.  Contrary to popular WW legend, the day that you weigh-in is NOT a free for all!  As I sit here, I’m working on getting my water in, which means I won’t be able sitting here much longer. 😉

So here’s to all of us having a good weekend and a great week, in control, on track, getting exercise, drinking our water and…NO MORE BLACK BEANS!

Maybe, garbanzos…

  1. And this is why you are the WW and I am the slug! If I worked that hard and gained 2 1/2 pounds I’d kill myself! Especially after falling off the wagon last night. But, in my defense, I drove right past the sign at the Garrison for their hoagie sale. Even though, according to them, their’s are bigger and better because they are mostly Marines!

  2. I can totally relate. It’s easy to get discouraged after a weigh-in doesn’t go how you would have liked…especially when you tried so hard. Just keep at it and you will see results, even if they don’t show up right away on the scale.
