Time To Talk About Time

The Blogging A to Z Challenge has brought us to the letter T.

What better to talk about for the T than Time!  As in “I don’t have the Time,” or the popular “Where did the Time go,” or one of my favorites, “Is it Time already?”  We all talk about time, we all deal with time or the lack of it.

I don’t know anyone who really deals with their time well.  It’s very funny and also a little sad to me that for years and I do mean Years, I have tried rather unsuccessfully to keep a journal on a regular basis.  I love to write, yet this is something that has always alluded me.  When I find the old journals that I’ve started, they invariably pontificate how I am going to do it this time, I’m really going to journal on a regular basis.  AND I’m doing this as a way to track making better use of my Time.

Even my first post of the New Year on BCDC…Fresh Start 2012.  Talked about the things I was going to do in the New Year.  I listed them…First thing on the list was “Journal Daily.”  Have I done it?  Would I be complaining so much about it at the moment if I’d done it?!  I’m sure my thought behind it was to use my time more wisely.  I know myself pretty well.

I do feel I’ve been doing better at using my time.  One of the things on my list for the year was to read more.  I’ve done that.  I’ve hit 25 books on my Goodreads 2012 Challenge.  It lists 27 but that includes 2 that I stopped reading. I couldn’t complain about them if I didn’t include them in the list! I feel that’s a very good use of my time so far. AND I now refuse to waste my time on a book if I’m not enjoying it!

I have been working on going through things that need to be weeded out and sorted to get ready for my yard sale and for packing purposes.

This is one corner of my side porch (where my computer and desk are) when I started on it last week.

Now, I don’t have a VOILA look how beautiful this looks photo to use as an after but I do have these…

Tons of photos from my college productions Organized!  I was clueless how to organize them, but then I came up with this idea. Three ring plastic sleeves meant for documents.  Each show has its own sleeve, photos and programs all easy to see and with easy access.  I was very proud of myself for this.

Four sets of photos ready to be mailed out to various friends so that they can now be part of Their stuff instead of part of My stuff!  😉  So Excited.  My desk still needs a Lot of work, as you can see.  All in good time.

I even made a list of what I want to accomplish today.  Not sure if I’ll get it all done, but at least I’ll know what was completed and what I still need to do tomorrow. And I’ll be ready for it.  After all…as Scarlett said…Tomorrow Is Another Day!

Happy Monday!  Tomorrow it’ll be up to “U!”

  1. So proud of your organizaton skills! I’m working away, too. I have things that just must live in someone else’s house. AND, in case there are any crafters reading this, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!!!! Contact me, have I got a deal for you!

  2. Is this blog your journal or do you keep a seperate one? I tried as well throughout the years to keep a journal but it just never stuck, now I view my blog as a journal.

I love the rush of organizing. I am on a mission today to organize as many rooms in my house as I can. My best friend is coming for a visit so while I am cleaning I might as well organize too right?

Binders are a great idea for keepsakes. I keep a huge one for each of the kids schoolwork & art I want to keep. They love looking at their past work and writing.

    Have a fabulous Monday!

    • You know, Marie, I guess the blog is like a journal. But I’m talking about a written one. Alwyas keep trying to do that. It’s so great that each of the kids has their own binder. Great idea…they’re orderly and the Don’t get lost! Have fun cleaning and when your friend visits, too!

  3. a huge THUMBS UP (T + U, get it? haha!) to you, fran, on organizing your photos into the binder – huge accomplishment and a great use of your time.
i cannot believe it is almost the end of april – as usual, time is going so fast this year! it bewilders me how the days slip along so quickly.
great work on reading 25 books so far – reading is a great use of time, not a time-waster, imo.
good luck with your to do list today! and it does surprise me that journalling just does not stick with you!…let’s dr phil why blogging works for you but journalling does not – haha!

  4. Ohh, your organization efforts are looking so good! And journalling is so much harder than it looks–I mean, how hard should it be to just make a quick note of what you did on a certain day?? And yet, it’s hard. Really hard.

  5. Please come over here and help me organize!

  6. Your friends will love having those photos, what a great thing to do.
Time is definitely the one thing I’d choose out of everything to have more of, preferably double. Although chocolate would come a close second… 🙂

  7. I think blogging could count as a form of journaling. You might write differently than you would in your journal, but you do it almost every day, and it documents your life.
Wow…25 books is my goal for the YEAR!
