Tick Tock~In The Crock

I just love my breakfasts of Greek yogurt and Fiber One!

It is filling and with 14 grams of protein, you can’t go wrong.

Started early by pulling out Crock 1.5 to make some sweet goodness.

Chopped up apples and pears, sprinkled with apple pie spice and pumpkin pie spice.  Also added some cinnamon, but forgot to put it in the photo!

All mixed up and ready to cook!!  Can’t wait to eat them up tonight!

Next project using Crock 3.o…

Black beans about to go in for their soak bath before they get cooked tomorrow.  I’ve promised the black bean burger recipe and results on Monday.  I know, I know…I could use canned black beans, but I like the home-made ones so much, and it’s really so easy, why not.  You just have to remember to be prepared. 

First step under way!!  They’ll be ready to start cooking in Crock 3.o tomorrow morning, then it’s black bean burgers here we come!

Not sure what will happen at Weight Watchers Saturday morning.  It’s felt like a bit of an off week.  Sleep issues can have a bearing on my results on the scale sometimes.  I don’t know why.  All I know is, whatever the result, it won’t stop me from continuing doing what I do.  I can always work with the result and go on from there.  As Ralph likes to say…Lift and Shift!  Besides, there are black bean burgers in my future!!

  4. wow I want to know about both those things you are cooking. They sound great! Are they electric crock pots –it’s hard to tell. Do you have recipes?

    • Hi Jyllian! Yes, they’re electric. The first one is just apples and pears, peeled and chopped mixed with apple pie spice, pumpkin pie spice and a little sweetener. The other is just black beans. Crock pots are a great way to cook beans. I put the directions on the BCDC before. I really need to get organize them so that they’re all in one place. Thanks for the nudge…I’ll try to do that this week!

  5. Apparently, lack of sleep does things to your hormones that can make you hungrier or crave sugar (I’ve read that in my 80 million fitness magazines)!
    We have a crock pot…one of these years I’d like to try using it!

  7. I’ve read research suggesting that too little sleep causes weight gain… but hopefully today went well.
    I was just deciding to make some roasted apple/pear deliciousness tomorrow – great minds, clearly 🙂

    • Absolutely, Elle! Roasting the fruit must be delicious! Interesting about the sleep thing. I just wish I could get the cycle straightened out but I hear as we get older that can happen. Guess I’ll accept that rather than some of the other issues of aging.

  8. You are such a positive cookie Fran, I love it! Good job for seeing your progress and not letting something minor get you down! Those apples look awesome! You could make your own pie or crumble. If only I were there with you, we could be pie-munching, hip and shaking sisters :P. I’ve always wanted to figure out a cool recipe for black beans! I know all I need to do is type a few things in on google, but I somehow haven’t gotten around to it! I love black beans!

    • Cara, I would love to be hip and shaking with you! When it comes to recipes, I somehow always feel better if someone I know or a blogger I feel comfortable with has tried it and then suggests it. I reall should do more poking around at Google myself. Oh, the things we could find!
